The service sector in Australia continued to expand in October, albeit at a lower pace, the latest survey from the Australian Industry Group revealed on Monday with a Performance of Service Index score of 51.1.

That's down from 52.5 in September, although it remains above the boom-or-bust line of 50 that separates expansion from contraction.

Among the individual components of the survey, employment, supplier deliveries, capacity utilization and input prices all strengthened further into positive territory.

Finished stocks and wages weakened but continued to expand, while sales and new orders fell into contraction.
